Volunteering with Habitat

There is something for everybody to do at Habitat!

Whether you are an experienced builder or don't know a nail from a tape measure, you can help eradicate poverty housing in our community.

Habitat for Humanity is a grassroots organization, formed by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide who all share the common goal of making sure every responsible family has a safe, comfortable place to live. Except for a few dedicated staff members, it is all done by you - the volunteer that generously gives your valuable time to help change the world, one family at a time.

Of course, not every job at Habitat involves a hammer. There are envelopes to stuff, phone calls to make, funds to be raised and families to be counseled. Give us a call - we always need another enthusiastic volunteer!
 

Some of the volunteers opportunities at Habitat include:

Construction Builds

Building dates usually take place on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. All skill levels are welcome!
 

HomeMart Store

Our resale store is located at 14 Eagle's Court in Cartersville and is open Monday-Saturday from 10am - 5 pm. We have an array of household and construction items. Donations are made to the store and sold to the public in order to supplement funds for building houses. Volunteers are needed to work in our store Monday-Saturday to assist in sorting, helping customers, organizing, pick up donations, etc.

Office Assistants

Our office is also located upstairs at 14 Eagle's Court and open Monday-Friday between 9am and 5pm. Duties include data entry, filing, mailing letters, answering phones, etc. Our staff is very limited – volunteers are welcomed! 

Habitat Committees

Our affiliate relies on our committees to make home ownership a reality. Together we are able to accomplish our mission of eliminating substandard housing. Committees include: Church Relations, Family Support, Family Selection, Fund Raising
